Surprising My Husband for our 5th Wedding Anniversary: PART 4
Our Perfect Day at CocoCay: A Day of Fun and Relaxation
Day three of our cruise was one we had eagerly anticipated—our visit to the private island of CocoCay, aptly named "Perfect Day at CocoCay." We started the morning with room service in our cabin, followed by my husband’s trip to the gym to get energized for the day ahead. Afterward, we headed down to the gangway, ready to disembark and explore this tropical paradise. As we made our way toward the island, we couldn't help but admire its beauty. The clear blue waters, lush greenery, and vibrant colors of CocoCay were breathtaking. The sight of Liberty of the Seas, our grand cruise ship, anchored nearby added to the stunning panorama.
Upon arriving on the island, our first stop was the hot air balloon excursion I had booked before the cruise. We were both excited to see CocoCay from the sky, but unfortunately, the ride was canceled due to weather conditions. Although we were disappointed, we took the opportunity to snap some pictures as keepsakes, preserving the memory of our almost-aerial adventure.
Next, we made our way to South Beach, one of the many beaches on the island that required no extra cost. The beach was pristine, with soft white sand and crystal-clear water inviting us in for a swim. We spent the next couple of hours swimming, lounging on the beach, and enjoying the complimentary food and drinks. The atmosphere was lively yet relaxed, and we had a blast playing beach games and soaking up the sun.
After some time, dark clouds began to roll in, and the island staff announced that they were closing the island due to an approaching thunderstorm. We decided to take the tram back to the ship, eager to continue our day of fun aboard Liberty of the Seas. Once back on the ship, we wasted no time heading to the water slides, which we enjoyed multiple times. The thrill of the slides was exhilarating, and it was great to let loose and have some carefree fun.
I had my heart set on trying the rock climbing wall next, but unfortunately, it was closed due to the worsening weather. With the rain pouring down outside, we decided to take advantage of one of the ship’s indoor amenities—a relaxing soak in the hot tub. The warm water was the perfect contrast to the cool rain, and I was soon joined by my husband, who brought me a vanilla ice cream cone, my favorite treat on the ship. We savored the moment, enjoying the peaceful ambiance as the storm raged outside. But our adventure wasn’t over yet—I had one final surprise up my sleeve. After disembarking the ship, we were set to spend two more days in Miami, and I couldn’t wait to share that experience with him.
Our day at Perfect Day at CocoCay may not have gone exactly as planned, but it was still an amazing experience filled with fun, relaxation, and quality time together. The memories we made will last a lifetime, and I’m grateful for every moment of this unforgettable anniversary trip.
The adventure doesn't end here, so stay tuned for Part 5 of our surprise anniversary cruise vacation!
With love,
Kay🤍
